SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- An Omaha-based supplier and remanufacturer of industrial equipment announced plans Tuesday to open a branch office in South Sioux City, creating 10 to 12 new jobs.
It's the third in a series of significant development projects released by city officials in the last five days, leading up to what's described as a "major'' announcement on Friday.
Peerless Energy Systems intends to build a 13,000-square-foot to 15,000-square-foot facility on a roughly two-acre site in the new Roth Industrial Park. Counting the building, land and equipment, an investment in excess of $3 million is anticipated. The company considered sites in Sioux City and Dakota Dunes before selecting South Sioux City for the new branch office, said Peerless president/general manager Ed McMorrow.
Peerless Energy, which has a number of customers in the tri-state area, specializes in compressed air and gas systems, air and gas dryers and filters, process vacuum equipment, chillers and abrasive blasting and cleaning equipment.
Compressed air systems are used extensively to provide power for tools, equipment, and industrial processes such as pressurizing, atomizing agitating and mixing. The systems are central to the production of chemicals, plastics, glass, food processors, pharmaceuticals, pulp and paper, textiles, petroleum, automobiles, aircraft and other products.
