Dakota Valley qualifies for VFW state

NORTH SIOUX CITY -- Zach Selby was 4-for-4, including a double, while leading Dakota Valley to an 18-0 win in five innings over Elk Point-Jefferson in the VFW regional championship Saturday at Todd Larsen Field.
Jerod Price singled three times in five at-bats for Dakota Valley, which scored 11 runs in the fifth inning. Court MacGregor doubled twice.
Winning pitcher Evan Steemken allowed five hits.
Dakota Valley will play in the state Class A VFW 13-14 tournament July 25-27 at Winner, S.D.
