OMAHA (AP) -- Democrat Scott Kleeb is launching his first television ads of the general election as he takes on Republican Mike Johanns for Nebraska's open Senate seat.
This will be the first TV spot for either candidate since the May primary.
Kleeb's spokeswoman, Alicia Menendez, says the campaign has bought TV slots in the Omaha, Lincoln, Hastings, Kearney, Sioux City and North Platte markets during the opening ceremony of the Olympics on Friday.
Menendez says the ads introduce Kleeb to voters, highlighting the Democrat's commitment to bringing Nebraska values to Washington.
Menendez wouldn't say how much money was spent on the ads. She says it's part of a larger upcoming buy.
