Likewise, the oil companies should also be our source for funding of federal transportation costs. It isn't about "punishing big oil" but rather about supporting transportation at the most logical level. Taxes are a cost of business to the oil companies and are passed along to consumers. I don't support general taxation of American business, but this tax is aimed at covering costs incurred by those who benefit from the services and infrastructure. Using taxation to force policy is counterproductive though. "

With the mind-set of a lot of people here in this country, we should all be eliminated within 10 years. To bad, really sad. "

The oil companies make roughly 4-8 cents per gallon, the fed makes 18.4 cents per gallon, and IA 20c, NE 25c, SD 22c. Not only that, but oil companies are already paying taxes on their profits.
Why not windfall profits taxes on those who really rake it in?? Big Government! "

If you could learn to read for comprehension you might have noticed that I disagreed with the Democrats on this issue. But since your politics are so black and white along party lines that you can't even recognize agreement when you see it you opted to get personal.
In that vein, you should know that I consider people like you to an excellent barometer of the issues. Whatever you are against must be right. It is a bit difficult to do that when you supply nothing beyond your appraisal of me. What do you think about the issues? Or do you? "
