I tried "republicans block energy bill" again in Google and got lots of hits with examples of alternative energy tax credits and subsidies (McCain's new energy plan) being blocked in the Senate and Congress by Republicans. I understand that not all hits are relevant but there is no lack of evidence there.

It's no secret that the only energy Republican politicians actually support is oil. They continually drive down the taxes on oil companies while making sure America has no alternatives. McCain is still vowing to cut the subsidies for ethanol, the only alternative allowed to get off the ground for 30 yrs.

Keep driving your big vehicles and not conserving or supporting alternatives though. I learned survival skills many years ago and I can probably come out of the Republican's next depression in good shape. Don't let those weakling lefties tell you what to do. "
