Neb. Hispanic fertility rate twice that of whites

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Newly released census estimates show the fertility rate for Hispanics is twice as high as white, non-Hispanics.

Analyzing the 2006 data, the Center for Public Affairs Research at the University of Nebraska at Omaha says that doesn't mean Hispanic women have twice as many children. It shows how many births there are given the number of women of childbearing age.

The rate for black, non-Hispanics is about 1.5 times that of white, non-Hispanics.

White, non-Hispanics continue to have the most of the state's births. Nearly 75 percent of all births in 2006 were attributed to white, non-Hispanic mothers.

Hispanic mothers accounted for 15 percent of all births. Black, non-Hispanics accounted for about 6 percent of births in the state.

" Guess what; Hispanic women, many who are illegal do have more children than white women. That is because they are "irresponsibe reproducers" when they have children just to increase their numbers just like rats do, however, they are unable to care for them. Most responsible American women realize their household income must determine how many children they should have in order to give them a decent up bringing. Hispanic women have as many as the American welfare system can afford! If you think this comment is racist, then call me a racist, because it doesn't have the same meaning it used to. It is fact! "
