New christian school opens Thursday

Posted: Saturday, August 16, 2008
SIOUX CITY -- A new Christian school will be opening Thursday in Sioux City. Primary goals of the school will be to help children, kindergarten through eighth grade, of all faiths to progress academically as fast as they are able with special help for those students who need it.

With a low teacher-student ratio, the students will have a great deal of interaction with the teachers, it was announced.

James Hunt, who has 25 years experience working with children and adults, will be the school's certified head teacher. Hunt said he and his wife, Lorelee, another experienced teacher, will provide a safe, Christian environment where God's love will be felt.

A press release issued by Hunt stated the school will not only focus on the basic academic subjects, but also on character building, practical skills and faith in God.

An open house is planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the school which is sponsored by Seventh-day Adventists and located in a park-like campus at 3636 Aspenwood St. For more information, call (712) 252-2334.
