Sobriety checks planned in S.D. in September

PIERRE, S.D. -- The South Dakota Highway Patrol has scheduled sobriety checkpoints for the month of September in the following counties: Bennett, Brookings, Brule, Clay, Codington, Custer, Day, Grant, Hand, Hughes, Jerauld, Lawrence, McCook, Minnehaha, Pennington, Sanborn and Walworth.
In addition to detecting alcohol or drug impaired drivers, the Highway Patrol uses sobriety checkpoints to remind the public of the dangers of drinking and driving.
