US coalition says 30 militants die in battle

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) -- The U.S.-led coalition says over 30 militants were killed in a battle with its troops in eastern Afghanistan.
The coalition says in a statement that the clash took place in the eastern Laghman province on Wednesday. There were no coalition or Afghan troops killed.
The coalition says small arms fire and airstrikes were used against militants, killing over 30 and destroying a large cache of mortar rounds.
