LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- A Lincoln daycare provider is cited for child neglect this week after leaving three children home alone.
Health and Human Services received a report of unsanitary conditions from a home where 34-year-old Becky Ryan operates a daycare for the state.
When officers arrived, they found Ryan's 10-year-old daughter alone along with two other children ages 10 and 8.
Ryan was at the gym and had to take her son to the dentist. She said she told the customer's mom they would be home alone. The mother said Ryan didn't mention they'd be without a caretaker.
Ryan also said she thought it would be OK to leave them alone because she didn't charge for the day.
