SIOUX CITY -- Briar Cliff University is planning a full schedule of campuswide and community activities for new and returning students.
Beginning Saturday and continuing through Sept. 1, the 10-day event is designed to make the transition easier for new college students and to reacquaint returning students to campus life.
"Welcome week really helps our students to get settled back on campus," said Tiffany Quinze, assistant vice president for student development. "The wide variety of activities offers many opportunities to socialize and prepare for the new academic year."
Among welcome week highlights are "Luau Night" with a Hawaiian dinner and activities; a movie marathon; outdoor activities, including Frisbee golf, ultimate Frisbee and kick ball; "ArtSplash" on the riverfront; a job fair; the second annual Community Food Drive and "BCU in Black and White (and a Few Other Colors)" presented by Paul Olson, assistant professor of sociology.
