KEARNEY, Neb. (AP) -- A woman and her three children have escaped a house fire that was apparently started by a candle in Kearney.
Firefighters were called to the house late Tuesday night. Fire Chief Jerry Thompson says the fire was contained to a bedroom.
Thompson says the woman and children were checked for possible smoke inhalation at the scene and didn't go to the hospital.
Damage to the home is estimated at $10,000.
