Red Cross offers classes to train volunteers

The Siouxland Chapter of the American Red Cross is holding several classes to prepare current and new volunteers. The following classes will be held at the Chapter at 4200 War Eagle Drive. For more information or to sign up for a class, call (712) 252-4081.

-- Fulfilling our Mission at 1 p.m. today provides information about the American Red Cross, its mission, its fundamental principals and values and expected behaviors of volunteers in the conduct of that mission. 

-- Health Services at 11 a.m. today provides assistance to meet disaster-caused emergency health needs such as medications, medical equipment, treatment, and health recovery information.

 -- Shelter Operations and Shelter Simulation at 8:30 a.m. Friday provides care for people displaced due to a disaster.

Donors can go online to www.redcross.org or call 1-800-REDCROSS. Donors also can use their cell phones to donate $5 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund by text messaging the keyword "GIVE" to "2HELP" (24357). Donations will appear on monthly bills or be debited from a prepaid account balance. All applicable text rates apply. If you wish to designate your donation to a specific disaster, call 1-800-REDCROSS.
