Why no mention of Bush at convention?
Posted: Sunday, September 14, 2008
LAWTON, Iowa -- As an independent voter, I watched both conventions with interest. Now the Democrats told us all the bad things about George W. Bush, but the Republicans, except for the first lady, never even mentioned his name.
What I would like to know is why. For the past seven and one half years Republicans have been telling us in their Letters how great President Bush is. Some of them even thought he could walk on water, let alone he was the best president we had for 19 years. They even told the Democrats they were whiners.
None of their guest speakers, including Bush's friend John McCain, mentioned George's name. John has boasted many times how he supported George 90 percent of the time.
Why didn't they have George as the key speaker for their party? Minnesota is closer to Texas than Washington? For someone they have boasted about for seven and one half years, they now don't even want him mentioned. Why?
His actions have spoken louder than their words. It's hard to eat crow. A total of 603,000 jobs lost this year, high-priced food, fuel, medicine, health costs, lost homes and up-and-down stock market. He says there may be some hard times, but the economy is good. -- Bill Harrison
