Let's shoot ourselves in the foot

Posted: Thursday, October 02, 2008
MOVILLE, Iowa -- It's hard to appreciate the constant bashing by the Democratic candidates to "stick it to those terrible rich guys." I've never been hired by anyone living off of the government.

So let's just go ahead and shoot ourselves in the foot. Who needs a job anyway? -- Jacki Kilstrom

" Kieth, If you are going to quote numbers lets at least make them correct. In 2006 the top 15% income earners in this country pay almost 71% of the total taxes paid and earned less than 60% of the total income. In addition, the returns that where filed by people making less than $50,000 a year represented almost 57% of the total returns filed and they paid less than 10% of the total tax revenue recieved by the government. Who pays the taxes in this country? Those numbers are not from any quesses or talking points but from the IRS website, which is available to anybody interested enough to go look. We have got to quit kidding ourselfs about tax breaks for any group, does anyone know where the $700 billion is going to come from? "

" x-ssc taxes are coming regardless of who gets in office, the next president options are limited, their hands will largely be tied.

Wait for the bond bubble to burst, people who are running to paper are going to get wiped out. Worry more about inflation that is going to easily match taxes. "

" Sandy who are you to tell me who or what I donate my money to?

I can't wait for tax increase on all of the small businesses that make above $250k. Lay-offs will probably follow. Tax breaks for the small business that give insurance options & fines for the ones that don't. 4 years later - new president. Sorry guys it will probably be another Bush. Hat trick? "

" Jackie, did you think this one up on your own or are you just spewing more FoxNews pundit points.
I don't recall any Democrats vowing to "stick it to those terrible rich guys."
Freudian slip, maybe? "

" Jacki what are worrying about the government has no money left for those who think the government should take care of them. People are going to have to fend for themselves now, but you got to admit Wall Street fiduciary responsibility is dumbfounding.

They must have thought the Keebler elf was going to magic away all the derivatives and the backless credit-default swaps. To cover all those idgit ARM loans the ignornat (yes I misspelled that on purpose) signed and could not afford. "
