SIOUX CITY -- Iowa 5th District Congressman Steve King announced he would endorse the Divided We Fail endeavor Monday at Northern Hills Assisted Living Center in Sioux City.

King joins about 350 members of Congress who have endorsed Divided We Fail. The group was formed to make sure the 2008 campaign sees discussion of long-term financial and health care security issues.

Divided We Fail in 2007 and 2008 has hosted forums and pressed candidates on the campaign trail for their stances on the financial and health care issues.

Also on King's agenda Monday was the grand opening of the Plymouth County Republican Party campaign office 19 Central St. SW in Le Mars, where he was due for a one-hour appearance at 5 p.m.

King is seeking re-election to a fourth term and is contested by Democrat Rob Hubler.

" Hey Real Change, I see you are such a Hubler supporter that you don't even know his name, or how to spell it. We need more politicians like Steve King with the backbone to stand up for and say what is right for our country, NOT his party! "

" I can't believe all of you are buying this King nonsense.

We need REAL CHANGE in our District. I'm casting my vote for Ron Huber!!!

The Christians should like him, he used to be a deacon too!

Anything is better than this!

HUBER! HUBER! HUBER! "

" Peg, I did say something but it was not printed. (The same thing) No, I do not really care for Steve King but he was one of them who did not betray us at this time. We were blindly and hastily told to accept this bailout just like the Patriot -"act quickly"- instead of better thinking it out so these crooks couldn't go ahead or ask for more, not paying for what they did. We let them of the hook. They will do more and ask for more. Arnold has seriously considered it for California. What has happened to the American people was extortion, plain and simple. "

" Cook,

Let me help you explain Steve King's positions in more truthful terms:

Steve King does not vote for bloated and unnecessary taxpayer-funded, socialist programs which you say are "government efforts."

Who do you think finances "government efforts"?

If somebody wants to provide affordable health care, let them do it privately and foster competition. That's the only way it will happen without weakening our healthcare system - we have the best in the world.

If you want long waiting lines for sub-standard services, turn it over to the feds. "

" In order to reiterate something, wouldn't you have had to say it once before??

If you don't like the bailout, you should love Steve King. "
