Three teens arrested on drug charge

SAC CITY, Iowa -- Sac County authorities arrested three teenagers allegedly involved in a prescription-drug sale on an East Sac County school bus.
According to a police statement issued Tuesday, Sac County Sheriff's Office officials say a 15-year-old boy was recently charged with two misdemeanor counts of prohibited acts -- prescription drugs.
The charges stem from a Sept. 25 incident, police say, when the boy allegedly sold several tablets of his prescription of Bupropion to a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy on the bus.
Police did not identify any of the teens.
Bupropion, also called Wellbutrin and Zyban, is commonly prescriped to treat depression. Police said it is not listed as a controlled substance under Iowa law.
The 15-year-old and 16-year-old boys were charged with one misdemeanor count each of unlawful possession of prescription drugs.
All the boys were released to their parents or guardians. Their cases have been referred to juvenile authorities.
