McCain, Palin: Throwing dirt

Posted: Thursday, October 09, 2008
SIOUX CITY -- John McCain and Sarah Palin have resorted to throwing dirt in their campaign, not even good mud, just dirt. No facts, no truth, just lies and innuendo about Barack Obama. I have never been the biggest Obama fan in the world, but he is talking to the voters about what he will do and how he will lead this country. McCain and his "soccer mom" are trying to get us to believe that who Obama went to organizing meetings with years ago means something. I would hate to have anyone bring up who I knew 20 years ago.

The "mavericks" need to quit lying and tell us what they are really going to do to help us. Dear John, the American people want the truth and hope. Please, let us not teach our young people that a campaign can be won on lies. -- Terry Biddle

" Wow,it looks like I woke up every right wing nut in the city. I am not on medication, wish I was then I could see John McClaim through the same foggy cloud you do. At least I had the guts to sign my full name to the letter dear bloggers! "

" jon McCain has little chance of winning, he went for jugular on Obama and instead attracted the bass ackward crowd to his rally's which are now sinking his boat. "

" wow, I love all this absolute trash on this message board. Exaggerations and rumors fly...it really is too bad that Obama wasn't more forthright in dispelling these rumors, allegations, and explaining his associations. It's interesting, though, that he is quite candid about all his associations in his books. He doesn't hide anything...in fact, the source of some of the exaggerated stories is the autobiographies themselves.

What is disgraceful is how much seething anger there seems to be against Obama. People ought to be treated with respect, and there is no respect in these rooms.

By the way.....socialism and communism are DIFFERENT THINGS. Just for the record, since some of you are so bent on presenting facts, but can't seem to understand that. So calling someone a 'commie' doesn't work...in Germany in 1920, the socialists hated the communists...because they were different groups. Figure it out already. "

" mattb - You won't find any postings where I have claimed that Democrats are without fault in the credit crisis. What I have taken exception with is your assertion that there was no involvement with "VERY" Republican politicians, CEO's and traders who were happy to do the swaps on the FM's mortgage bundles.

Wall St pulled a con on America using the securities bundles and they all took obscene profits from the propping up of their asset / debt balance with mortgages that were insured with no cash backing.

The main problem with the mortgages themselves is more of an accounting problem than anything. Since the bundles include good and bad mortgages the value is an unknown and therefor is listed as a "0" line item where they once were listed with the face value of the mortgages. That is likely to be 75% in error even if one assumed all of the foreclosed property to have no value. The bail out was the ultimate, and hopefully last, Bush con on America. "

" Keith is the prime example of what's wrong with our nation and especially the socialist left today. Keith actually believes that the cause of the financial mess today is because of Credit Default Swaps. He thinks this because 60 minutes says so and that's his gospel. Typical liberal leftist; don't ever go to the core of the problem. Don't go after the root; just find some visible Capitalist, Republican, Right Wing weed to blame. He claims DCS's were a big contributor. He fails to understand is that there would have never been such a thing as a Credit default Swap if CRA, ACORN, OBAMA, BARNEY FRANK AND CHRIS DODD weren't forcing banks to make bad loans. But then I wouldn't expect him to admit that most of his friends should remain renters, no it had to be racism.

Maybe the genius Sunshine can help Keith figure this one out, if Republicans and lack of regulation are at fault, why hasn't the media paraded anyone out as the culprit?

How long did it take the MSM to tear apart Larry Craig for gay advances in a bathroom, Mark Foley for texting pages and George Allen for saying Mukaka? "
