Morningside names homecoming royalty

SIOUX CITY -- Blake Anderson, a senior from Randolph, Neb., and Jonalee Jackes, a senior from Le Mars, Iowa, were crowned knig and queen of homecoming festivities at Morningside College.

The king and queen were crowned during the coronation and talent show Thursday evening in Eppley Auditorium. The homecoming football game against Hastings (Neb.) College begins at 2 p.m. today in Olsen Stadium.

Anderson is the son of Mark and Tracy Anderson of Randolph. Jackes is the daughter of Bill and Jodee Jackes of Le Mars.

Members of the Morningside homecoming royalty court include seniors Lindsay Neste from Bremerton, Wash.; Tarah Sagedahl from East Bethel, Minn.; Amy Salton from Webb, Iowa; Vanessa Warzecha from Aloha, Ore.; Kayla Weerheim from Hawarden, Iowa; Alex Watters from Milford, Iowa; Derek Nolan from Hawarden, Iowa; Russell Heine from York, Neb.; Ryan Lickteig from Atlantic, Iowa, and Brady Helmink from Fairbury, Neb.

Junior class representatives at the coronation ceremony were Whitney Gries from Onawa, Iowa, and Josh Rensink from Sioux Center, Iowa. Sophomore class representatives were Laci Swanson from Marne, Iowa, and Cody Galvin from Early, Iowa. Freshman class representatives were Nicole Van Heek from Crofton, Neb., and Monte Larsen from Neola, Iowa.
