A double standard?

SIOUX CITY -- Many people seem to have a problem with the Ayers connection to Sen. Obama. As much as I am tired of partisan attacks, take this into account. If Sarah Palin would have met in pro-life meetings with a known domestic terrorist, who 35 years ago was setting pipe bombs at abortion clinics around the U.S., would that be relevant to talk about? I am sure the media would have brought that up within days of her nomination.

I don't own a motor cycle, I don't own a gun, a switch blade, or even leather jacket.
Stop the silly fear mongering, I wonder what skeletons we might find in your closet. "

" was ayers ever convicted? "
He wasn't even formally charged because of government impropriety and illegal wiretaps (probably wouldn't be illegal today though).
John McCain's good friend, G Gordon Liddy, was convicted for several felonies and admitted that he was willing to kill, and had plotted killings, to achieve a Republican win. The right has enshrined this dysfunctional personality as a "hero" and "patriot".
As the Jed Report notes, McCain voted in 1993 and 1994 against making bombings, arson and blockades at abortion clinics, and shootings and threats of violence against doctors and nurses who perform abortions federal crimes.
I guess the difference lies in the "education" and "voter registration" connections that Obama has with Ayers. Republicans have been consistently anti-education and anti-voting. "

Joe Vogler is also quoted as saying,
"My government is my worst enemy. I'm going to fight them with any means at hand"
AND
"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American
government, and I won't be buried under their damn flag. I'll be buried in
Dawson. And when Alaska is an independent nation they can bring my bones home."
Somehow, "God damn America" pales in comparison. "
