Lessons from grade school

Posted: Sunday, October 12, 2008
DAKOTA DUNES -- We studied about community organizers at St. Ann's elementary school in Vail, Iowa. We called them the Twelve Apostles. The Sermon on the Mount was their job description. None of them was mayor or governor before they took on their leadership roles. -- Gene Ebner

" I understand you now, Dick. It's the almighty dollar that's the lord in your life. Makes perfect sense to me. As for myself, I'd rather die poor fighting for innocent life than die wealthy at the expense of others. "

" James VB, you are the one being accusatory, not me. I could care less what you say. I will say hell and damn all that I like. I pay for that privilege. And yes Peggy, I belong to KC. You got me on that one. Jobs and the economy are my number one concern and I will vote accordingly. "

" Dick, that is a lame response. They do say hell in church but not as a swear word. There is a difference. I sure hope you are not judging me. "

" Uh, Dick, you said 'damn' in another post further down.

Aren't you a Catholic? And a KC? "
