PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- The South Dakota Attorney General's Office has received the "Above and Beyond" award from the Employer Support of the National Guard and Reserve group.
The award recognizes the work of attorney general's office employees who helped fellow staff members who were deployed and their families.
Homer Harding of the employer support group says the office is an example that other businesses and organizations can follow.
Attorney General Larry Long says his staff made sure the employees and their families were not forgotten. He says out of the 150 staff members, 42 are veterans.
