SIOUX CITY -- Will Tuttle, author of the book "The World Peace Diet: Eating for Spiritual Health and Social Harmony," will lecture at Morningside College from 6 to 7 p.m. Oct. 30 in the Lincoln Center's UPS Auditorium. The lecture is free and open to the public.

In his book, Tuttle presents the hypothesis that choices people make about food are leading to environmental degradation, human health problems and cruelty to animals. Tuttle, an animal rights and peace activist and a vegan, lives in Healdsburg, Calif.

Tuttle received his master's degree in humanities from San Francisco State University and his doctorate in the philosophy of education from the University of California. A professional pianist and teacher, he also trained in Korea as a Zen Buddhist monk and has worked extensively in Tai Chi, yoga, massage, and dance and movement.
