Human life stands above all issues
Posted: Thursday, October 23, 2008
SIOUX CITY -- The Nov. 4 election is the best chance practicing Catholics/Christians have to frame the environment of our country for our children and grandchildren. While I am in complete agreement with those who say that the most important issues to be addressed in choosing a president are: a) economy/jobs; b) national security; c) health care, d) gas prices, there is one issue that stands above the rest if, in fact, the rest are to matter at all. That is the issue of human life.
If we are to be truthful and say that we are, indeed, “practicing” Catholics/Christians, then it must follow that we will do everything in our power to protect human life from cradle to grave. The lines of demarcation on the life issue can be no clearer than they are in the men running for the office of president. While Sen. McCain has a 25-year pro-life voting record, Sen. Obama voted against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, which requires doctors to provide basic medical needs to an infant born from a failed abortion.
We have a very serious responsibility in the upcoming election and it should be clear, whether Republican or Democrat, that this issue trumps party politics. Please join me in voting for life on Nov. 4. -- Barb Vakulskas

My point was and is there are countries in this world that are going to suffer even worse because the global economy is devastated. We are going to see many innocent people starve to death; mostly children who did nothing wrong. So to me because human life stands above all issues the economy is a far more important issue than abortion.
Zimbabwe was just an example, and you chose to get obstinate about it. There are many other countries with the same problem. I don't think as many people will be able to afford an abortion very soon. "

I might still ask you to clarify what Zimbabwe has to do with Obama's support for Abortion, Partial Birth Abortion and infanticide? "
