Iowa man faces child porn charge

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- A Brooklyn, Iowa, man faces a child pornography charge for allegedly distributing nude photos of a 15-year-old Northwest Iowa girl.
Kyle Michael Kirby, 24, is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids.
According to court documents, Kirby used a fictitious identity on online social networking sites to get sexually explicit photos from the girl, a 14-year-old Linn County boy and a 15-year-old Buchanan County boy.
Court documents do not indicate what county the girl lives in.
According to court documents, Kirby is accused of distributing photos among the teens.
The mother of one of the boys discovered what was happening in September, according to court documents, when Kirby sent her son explicit photos while she was logged into the boy's Facebook.com account.
According to court documents, Kirby admitted to accessing accounts associated with the fictitious identity on his computer at the Brooklyn Chronicle newspaper, where he was sports editor.
The Brooklyn Chronicle is owned by the Des Moines Register.
