Give him a chance

Posted: Tuesday, November 11, 2008
SIOUX CITY -- Barack Obama - the most liberal president? Let's not be so cynical.

President-elect Obama is a good, decent man who will bring not only our country but the whole world back together, both emotionally and financially. He will work hard to put our country back to where we were when President Clinton  had our  country pulled together. We as a nation and the whole world will be better off with our new president. It's not God help America, it's God bless America. With President Obama in charge, God will have blessed us. Give him a chance before you start putting him down. -- Linda Johnson

" Wow and to think the right accused the left of whining when they lost to Bush in 2000. Some of these posters here make those people look pretty tame. "

" By all means Mr. Ritchie... please continue to allow the personal attacks on reactionaries made here by my allies while editing those of our adversaries! The Great Leader will be happy to provide a reference to you should you apply at the New York Times!
Hail Obama!! One People, One Nation, One Leader!! "

" Republicans should remove the pole from their own eye before bellyaching about the speck in the eye of Democrats. Bush's 22% (and falling) approval means that a lot of Republicans see his foibles as clearly as do Democrats.

Claiming that they will preemptively withhold support from Obama because Democrats didn't unwaveringly support Bush places them on shaky ground. It effectively prosecutes at least 1/3 of Republicans for treason against the party.

Disapproving of policy as damaging to one's country but voting for extending it in blind loyalty to party is extreme partisanship, at best. "

" Enough with the fuzzy math. Corporations taxes go up, the price of goods and services goes up for everyone, with the bottom 10% paying more of a percentage of their income than the rest.

Cap-n-Trade gets enacted, Exon Mobile has to purchase carbon offsets from the Aboriganies with the U.N. taking a slice as a transaction fee. Petroleum goes up to cover the offsets and the poor have to pay more for fuel.

Income taxes go up for those making more than $250,000 (To be lowered later), so the "Rich Guy" ups his pay, or the Board of Directors approves a raise. Goods and Services rise in price accordingly to cover the increase. The poor people must pay more for the goods and services.

Tell me again how only the top 5 or 10% will pay these tax increases. "
