America's promise rekindled
Posted: Thursday, November 13, 2008
SIOUX CITY -- Out of the confusion and tumult, forces coalesced in catapulting a new leader to assume the reins of leadership in our democracy. Many were shocked that the spirit of America, the enduring soul of our heritage, has now become the embodiment of our hopes and dreams in a new leadership under Barack Obama. In this rebirth of our hopes and aspirations, "yes we can" is now the mantra in this new beginning and the pigment in our skins really doesn't matter.
Many have longed, waited and cried for the day that this would happen. A new tomorrow was still in darkness and people wondered why. There was a need to correct and change things in a new direction as people lost jobs, foreclosures mounted and children needed better health care. Thus a new leader came to us with possible answers who claimed that we must "seize the moment" and pledge ourselves for a better tomorrow. Some needed to rethink the destiny of America, but the pigment in the skin didn't really matter.
The promises of America are to be rekindled again so that the profound words of Thomas Jefferson continue to resonate throughout our land "that all men are created equal and they are endowed with certain inalienable rights, specifically those of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness," and hopefully we can take solace in the feeling that the pigment of our skin doesn't really matter. -- John Hejhal

Maybe then you would take the time to educate yourselves on a topic before drooling over your keyboard and posting the ignorant lunacy you spout each and every day. "

She would have two very strong roadblocks to any bid for the Governorship though. The eastern Iowa block wouldn't vote for a Governor from the sticks of western Iowa, and the religious element of the Republican party would have to give her their stamp of approval. I have no idea where she would score on their test. "
