CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) -- Trial has been rescheduled for next year for a human resources employee charged with helping illegal workers use false documents to work at the Agriprocessors Inc. plant in Postville.
Karina Freund of Fayette was arrested in September by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and charged with harboring illegal immigrants.
Her arrest followed a massive federal raid at the Agriprocessors plant on May 12, during which 389 people were arrested.
Freund's trial was supposed to have started Monday, but is now rescheduled for Jan. 20.
She is also among five Agriprocessors officials who have pleaded not guilty to thousands of charges of violating Iowa's child labor laws.
