Go Red for Women will honor four

SIOUX CITY -- The Siouxland American Heart Association's fifth annual Go Red for Women Luncheon will honor four individuals in the medical community for their work with cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Dr. Carol Roge, Ronda Keenan, Sharon Blanche and Nancy Young will be honored at the Dec. 5 luncheon at the Marina Inn in South Sioux City. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. with a silent auction of red purses. The luncheon will begin at noon and feature a guest speaker.

Roge is a physician with Family Healthcare of Siouxland Northside (formerly known as Sioux City Family Physicians). Roge's community service includes being on the St. Luke's Regional Medical Center Health Board and Mercy Medical System Health Board.

Keenan is director of women's and children's services and interim chief nursing officer at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center.

Keenan is president-elect of the Siouxland Community Health Center Board of Directors and chair of the Health Center's Quality Committee. She has served on the Siouxland American Heart Association's Heart Ball for the last five years. She recently was elected to the Iowa Organization of Nurse Leaders Board of Directors.

Blanche is executive director of Mercy Heart Center. She serves as chair of the Heart Center Strategic Team and Nursing Leadership Council and has more than 30 years experience in cardiac and critical care leadership. She also serves on the board of the Iowa Donor Network and the American Heart Association Heart Ball committee. She served three years as a board member for the Siouxland American Heart Association.

Young has been with Family Healthcare of Siouxland Northside (formerly known as Sioux City Family Physicians) since 1988. She has been on the Siouxland American Heart Association heart walk committee for seven years and has received an award for top walker, small business from 2000-2008.
