LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- This year's corn and sorghum harvest is shaping up to be the latest harvest since 1992 because wet weather continued to slow Nebraska farmers.
The USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service says the corn and sorghum harvest remains more than two weeks behind average in Nebraska.
Most of Nebraska received at least half an inch of moisture last week.
The corn harvest is farthest along in the eastern third of the state. Many western Nebraska farmers are just reaching the halfway point of harvest.
Overall, the corn harvest is roughly 70 percent complete. The Nebraska sorghum harvest is about 60 percent complete.
