CB man threatens to light another man on fire

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) -- A Council Bluffs man faces attempted murder and arson charges after authorities say he poured gasoline on another man and threatened to light him on fire.
Pottawattamie County sheriff's officials say Eric Smith was taken into custody Saturday at a rural residence.
Sheriff Jeff Danker says Smith became upset with Steve Jones, of Council Bluffs, for allegedly taking a ring.
Danker says Smith began beating Jones with a fireplace poker but was restrained by another man. Smith allegedly came back minutes later with a can of gasoline and poured it on Jones and threatened to light him on fire if he didn't say where the ring was hidden.
Smith was being held at the Pottawattamie County jail.
