Sioux City high hits 54 degrees
Posted: Wednesday, December 03, 2008
Tuesday might be the last time the area will experience 50-degree temperatures for a couple of months, according to the National Weather Service.
The service recorded an above-average high temperature of 54 degrees at 3:24 p.m. Tuesday, not far off the record 62 degrees observed in 1998.
Mike Buss, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, offered some good news for those fearing colder temperatures.
"The next couple of months we're looking at above-normal temperatures," Buss said.
Buss said colder temperatures are going to become more consistent.
A cold front is on its way from Canada and Siouxland could get up to 2 inches of snow by this morning, Buss said.
