MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) -- Police say a phone scam that has targeted north Iowa in the past has returned.
The Mason City Police Department says residents are receiving a recorded message from someone claiming to represent the North Iowa Community Credit Union.
The message states that the call recipients credit card has been deactivated and that he or she needs to enter card information in order to reactivate it.
Police say the call is a scam and not related to a credible bank or credit union.
