Mapleton, Orange City receive firefighting grants

The fire departments of Mapleton and Orange City are among seven Iowa cities receiving money from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
The Orange City department received $156,275 toward buying a new firefighting vehicle, while Mapleton received $28,830 for use in training firefighters and buying safety equipment.
The money comes from the Federal Emergency Management Agency of DHS. The seven Iowa fire departments received $451,000.
