OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- A Rose Parade float will carry a reminder of a 2-year-old Nebraska boy, whose liver was transplanted after he drowned in 1984.
The recipient was a 14-month-old girl, Lily Allen, who lost her liver to cancer.
Matthew Bemis' gift of life will be noted on the Donate Life float that will be part of the New Year's Day parade in Pasadena, Calif.
His picture will be one of 38 "floragraphs" on the float, representing 38 people whose organs or tissues were donated upon their deaths.
More than two dozen organ recipients will be riding on the float, including Lily Allen of Syracuse, who recently married.
Matthew's parents, Milt and Janet Bemis of David City, will be in Pasadena as well.
