LE MARS, Iowa -- A Le Mars man was arrested Friday after the Le Mars Police Department received reports of four burglaries, all with one block of one another.
At 9:20 a.m., Marcus Allen Curiel, 19, was arrested and transported to Floyd Valley Hospital where he was treated for a severe laceration to his wrist. After leaving the hospital, Curiel was transported to the Plymouth County Jail where he was charged with three counts of second degree burglary (class C felony); burglary in the third degree (aggravated misdemeanor); theft in the fifth degree (simple misdemeanor); and criminal mischief (serious misdemeanor).
Upon investigating the first burglary, officers discovered a garage was broken into after a window was broken to gain entrance. The back door of the residence was then broken into, police said. Blood was located in the garage and home.
Blood droplets and blood smears were also found in two nearby apartments and a pickup truck that were reportedly burglarized at the same time.
Curiel was being held on a $50,000 bond until he could appear before a judge.
