SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Mary Ann Roth, 63, of South Sioux City passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hope Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Randall Knuth officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present at 6 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.
Mary was born Sept. 6, 1945, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Paul E. and Edna (Richardson) Tuel. She attended school in Sioux City. She married Wyman G. Roth on July 3, 1966, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sioux City. She was employed at the Diamond Horseshoe Cafe and later at Peaceful Place Day Care Center.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aide. She was a Sunday school teacher's assistant for several years and also helped with church bible school.
She loved her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband, Wyman; a son, Glenn Sr. and his wife, Brenda of South Sioux City; a daughter, Kimberly Roth and her fiance, Mike Albers of Sioux City; five grandchildren, Katarina, Zachary, Glenn Jr., Helen and Angel Roth; as well as cousins.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Pallbearers will be David, Gary, Scott, Casey and Derrick Roth and Wess Dunn. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Katarina, Zachary and Glenn E. Roth Jr. and Helen A. and Angel Roth.
