Conservation Board offers OWLS program

SIOUX CITY -- OWLS (Older, Wiser, Livelier Souls) is a new program being offered by the Woodbury County Conservation Board.
OWLS will meet from 11 a.m. until noon on the first Wednesday of each month at the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center, 4500 Sioux River Road. Each month, a speaker will give a presentation on a topic relating to the natural world.
The program on Jan. 7 will be "The Nature Conservancy in Iowa" by Scott Moats of the Nature Conservancy's Broken Kettle Grassland.
The Feb. 4 program will be "Honeybees" by Leonard Kurtz of Sue Bee Honey Association.
The March 4 program will be "Backyard Conservation: Do-it-yourself Habitat" by Sam Thomas of the NRCS.
