HINTON, Iowa -- A Siouxland man faces six felony charges for allegedly operating a meth lab in an abandoned farmhouse near Hinton, Iowa.
According to a statement from the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office, Marlo Arthur Petersen was arrested Thursday on felony charges of manufacturing more than five grams of methamphetamine and possessing precursors ether, acid, pseudoephedrine, lithium and anhydrous ammonia.
Petersen, 34, of Onawa, made his initial court appearance today. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 16 in LeMars, Iowa.
According to the police statement, deputies found the lab about 1:50 p.m. Thursday while investigating a complaint of suspicious activity at an abandoned farmstead at 30894 Kestrel Ave.

Several other items were sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
According to court documents, the farmstead is owned by Melfred Petersen.
An official with the Plymouth County Jail said Petersen was being held tonight on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
