26 S.D. schools vie for state cheer title

YANKTON, S.D. (AP) - Twenty-six schools were entered in Saturday's state cheer competition being held in Yankton.

It's the second year for state high school competition in cheer and dance. Seventeen schools were entered in competitive dance.

Last years overall division champions in the cheer competition were Brandon Valley, Sioux Valley and Faulkton. Overall champions in the dance competition were Yankton and St. Thomas More.
