OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Trading activity remains brisk at TD
Ameritrade although it has slowed some since early October.
The online broker's chief
executive Fred Tomczyk (tom-ZICK) told analysts at a conference
Wednesday that many investors remain active because the stock
market has continued to be volatile.
Tomczyk says the number of trades
the Omaha-based company handles each day has slowed from the
average of 433,000 trades a day Ameritrade saw in the first three
weeks of October. But the number of trades is still moving at a
good pace.
Tomczyk says Ameritrade has a
good opportunity to grow as its customers trust the company to
handle more of their assets. Developing more asset-based revenue is
a long-term goal for the company.
