CEDAR FALLS -- Solon has scored 19 unanswered points to take 26-14 halftime lead over Central Lyon/George-Little Rock in the Class 2A state championship game at the UNI-Dome.
James Morris scored on 12-yard run with 3:01 left in the half to give the Spartans a 12-point lead. Solon has taken advantage of several big plays, including a 91-yard touchdown pass and a 57-yard touchdown run.
Jordan Gacke drew first blood for the Lions on an 85-yard touchdown run. Central Lyon took a 14-7 lead with 11:24 left in the half before Solon went on its run.
Solon beat CL/G-LR last year for the state. Two years ago, it was CL/G-LR over Solon for the state title.
