DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - The Southern Iowa Rural Water Association has lifted its remaining boil advisory for people who live in rural areas near Creston.
The association announced the move on Saturday.
The association resumed flushing contaminated water from the system to ensure that customers received treated water in their taps. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has approved the decision to lift the boil advisory.
The decision comes after a boil advisory was first put in place more than a week ago. That decision came after a problem with the filtration system at Creston Water Works.
Advisories for Creston and eight other communities had already been lifted, but conditions had remained in place for rural customers outside Creston.
