CRAZY HORSE MEMORIAL, S.D. (AP) - A night blast is planned for Friday at Crazy Horse mountain near Custer to help celebrate Ruth Ziolkowski's 83rd birthday.
She is the president and CEO of the Crazy Horse Memorial.
The blast also commemorates the 133rd anniversary of the Battle of the Little Big Horn.
A program and a laser light show will precede the blast on the world's largest mountain carving.
The only other night blast is Sept. 6, in observance of the 1877 death of Lakota leader Crazy Horse and the 1908 birth of the mountain carving's sculptor, the late Korczak Ziolkowski.
