CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa
(AP) - Firefighters are looking for what caused a brush fire that
threatened some homes near Shaver Park in Cedar
Rapids.
The fire broke out Wednesday deep
inside the wooded park on the city's northeast side. The fire,
fueled by gusty wind and fallen leaves, blackened a large section
of the park. It was working its way up a hill to some houses when
fire crews arrived around 1 p.m.
It took them about
an hour to put it out. Flames got within 50 yards of 1
house.
No one was injured
and no homes were damaged.
