IOWA CITY (AP) -- University of Iowa athletics officials say today's season opener against Maine is sold out.

Athletic Ticket Director Pam Finke says the Hawkeyes have now sold out more than 30 home football games. The last time Iowa didn't sell out a home game was in September 2003 when the Hawkeyes played Buffalo.

The season opener will be played today at Kinnick Stadium. Finke says the crowd is estimated at 70,585.

Home games against Iowa State, Northwestern, Wisconsin and Penn State are also sold out. Officials say tickets remain for next week's home game against Florida International and a Nov. 15 game versus Purdue.

The game starts at 11:05 a.m. on the Big Ten Network.
