"The Battle for Whiteclay," a documentary about the struggle with alcoholism in Whiteclay, Neb., will be screened at 6 p.m. today at the Stark Student Center at Briar Cliff University.
Following the screening, director Mark Vasina and participant Duane Martin will be on hand to conduct a question and answer session regarding the film.
Detailing the practice of selling alcohol in Whiteclay, Neb., just across the border from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, the film has been shown around the country as a way to inform residents about the battle Native Americans have had with liquor sales and rising alcoholism rates.
Free and open to the public, the film is sponsored by the BCU Social Work Club and the Memorial March to Honor Lost Children.
