CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - Cedar Rapids police responding to what appeared at first to be a possible bank robbery threat say it turned out to be a case of a 13-year-old boy playing with a pellet gun.
Officers say the boy found the realistic-looking pellet gun pellet on the street some time Friday and was playing with it as he walked in front of the Dupaco Credit Union.
Dupaco employees locked the doors and called the police, not knowing it was a pellet gun.
Just this spring, Cedar Rapids made it illegal to walk in public with a pellet gun, and investigators say Friday's incident was the eleventh of its type since then.
