WAYNE, Neb. -- A University of Nebraska Medical Center professor will talk about stem cell research and ethics at Wayne State College next week.
Dr. Sheryl Pitner will present "The Science and Ethics of Stem Cells" at 5 p.m. Dec. 2 in the Niobrara Room of the Student Center.
Pitner will talk about the basics of stem cells and research, the ethics concerns and the American government's policy regarding stem cells. There will be time for audience members to ask questions.
In addition to teaching at UNMC, Pitner also has an adjunct academic appointment at Creighton University Medical Center and is the president of the Nebraska Coalition for Ethical Research and the secretary of the Omaha guild of the Catholic Medical Association.
