DEADWOOD, S.D. (AP) - Finishing touches are being applied to a $47 million casino, resort, hotel and convention center in Deadwood - on the heels of the 20th anniversary of legal gambling in the Black Hills town.
The Lodge at Deadwood includes a four-story hotel, convention center, water park, restaurant, bar and casino. Construction started about 2½ years ago.
Officials say the hotel, water park and bar will open to the public at noon Friday and that the casino and restaurant will be ready in early December. Mangers say the casino will have 300 high-tech machines.
